Share the farm experience with your guests.
This spectacular replica of the original barn is the perfect venue for your event.
You will find us in the summer at the Holland Township Farmers Market. This quaint market, located at the Holland Township Fire House on Rt. 519 (at Andersen Rd), is small and the vendors are REALLY local.
The market is open from June through mid-September on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. All of our products will be on sale as seasonally available.
Today, one would describe our farm as a small family farm, situated on 17 acres providing just about everything a farm family could want: pastures, orchard, hay fields, woodlands, fresh water springs and outbuildings. We have worked hard since 2004 to restore the farm to its natural beauty and capability. It is a labor of love that we wish to share.
This farm was originally part of the “Hawk Farm” purchased by Joseph Hawk in 1819 for $3,420, a tidy sum in those days. We acquired the property in 2004 and meticulously restored and renovated the two stone buildings in 2005-2006. The month of acquisition housed a blue moon, hence the farm’s name.
Summer has blessed us with her whimsical and enchanting ways. Although we are busy, we stay content especially enjoying the cool summer evenings out on our porch.
We take in the abundance of delicious micro lettuce heads in salads for nearly every meal except breakfast. Our most seasonal item, garlic scapes, have been popped and this garlic lovers delight gets used to make our salads, soups, dips, and stir fry’s more medicinal and of course more flavorful.
Our heifer, Kerry, gave birth for the first time this winter. It was a wonderful and easy birth as is typical with Dexters. At first glance, from afar, it looked like a heifer so we named it Maggie. A few weeks later under closer inspection, we realized it was a boy. A boy named ‘Maggie’. I think Johnny Cash wrote a song about that.
